Due to the anticipated dangerous weather conditions for Sunday, June 30, we have made the difficult decision to cancel Day 2 of Bike MS: Cape Cod Getaway. Safety is our top priority, and we want to ensure everyone connected to Bike MS has a positive experience. At the directive of local police and municipalities, they can no longer support our event because they are now on standby for the storm to support their local communities and other potential emergencies. This decision was made due to numerous factors. The high winds are currently making it unsafe to travel over the Bourne Bridge and we are unable to change the time when we can cross. We have greater risk posed by having rest stops, parts of our route, and the finish line near the coast and weather conditions may impede us from utilizing these locations. Due to the numerous logistics needed, we had to make this decision today.
Saturday’s routes, festivities, transportation, hotel shuttles, and housing accommodations are all continued as planned! Participants are invited to stay overnight at Mass Maritime Academy and dinner and breakfast are available as scheduled. Return transportation to the Quincy Day 1 start line will be provided for all participants as needed. There are two options for you:
- Saturday buses will depart Mass Maritime Academy at two times: 3:00pm and 7:00pm.
- We will also provide a Sunday return bus at 8:00am.
- Mass Maritime Academy will close Sunday at 9am to all participants and vehicles.
We’re excited to continue riding with you on Saturday and celebrating 40 years of Cape Cod Getaway!
We will communicate additional information once details have been confirmed. Thanks for all you do to help move our mission forward. Your efforts fund critical services for people living with MS and research to move us closer to a cure. While the weather has impacted our plans, we will not let it stop us from crossing the finish line of creating a world free of MS! Quincy, MA to Provincetown, MA
Join the largest Bike MS event in the New England area and celebrate 40 years of Bike MS: Cape Cod Getaway! Take in beautiful Cape Cod views as you ride from Quincy to Provincetown, MA on this two-day cycling experience. We’ll celebrate at the day one finish with music, drinks and recovery stations. Day two you'll head out to some more amazing landscapes and make your way to the final finish line in Ptown, with everyone's favorite ferry ride back to Quincy to end an amazing weekend!
Fundraising Minimum: $500
Route Distances: Saturday: 75 miles and 100 miles, Sunday: 75 miles
