With a variety of route options, you can choose the challenge that’s right for you. Routes will be finalized in the weeks leading up to the event.
Please find the 2023 route options available for viewing until the 2024 routes are finalized. We are not planning for any major route changes unless changes are due to construction.

Kickoff Event
Join us as we celebrate our 2023 Bike MS Valero Ride to the River successes and kick-off our 35th annual South Texas ride.
Our theme for 2024 is Oktoberfest and we will give away a door prize for best dressed.

‘Know Before You Go’ Logistics Meeting
All Bike MS participants are invited to our ‘Know Before You Go’ Logistics meeting to have all your event weekend questions answered. Bike MS staff and leadership volunteers will review all aspects of the ride weekend including parking, start line / finish line expectations, route and rest stops, plus the extraordinary experience of Day 1 and Day 2.

Fundraising Week Challenge (July 29 – August 4)
The teams who raise the most online funds will receive their choice of team prize. One winner will be awarded from each team size category:
Mid-size teams 2-14 participants
Large teams 15+ participants
- Team tent upgrade (Up to $200)
- Team port-a-potty along the route at a rest stop of your choice
- Stocked cooler at team tent
- $100 H-E-B Gift Card
The individual who raises the most funds will have their choice of
- Access to the VIP Tent at the Overnight
- One night hotel stay at either the host hotel on Friday, October 4 or Schlitterbahn on Saturday, October 5.

The individual who raises the most funds will have their choice of

- Your Bike MS packet contains important items including your rider bib, event details and sponsor giveaways. In order to pick up your packet, you must meet the $300 fundraising minimum and have a completed waiver on file. If you registered online, you've already completed a waiver during the registration process. Please note: Riders under 18 will need a waiver signed by a parent or guardian.

Food
Whether you have a flat tire or need a snack to help get you across the finish line, we’ve got you covered…
Each route includes fully stocked rest stops every 10 to 12 miles with some of the best snacks and volunteers around. Relax, hydrate, use the restroom, re-apply sunscreen and enjoy time with the volunteers along with support and gear (SAG) vehicles along the route to assist you.
After you cross the finish line, we will have plenty of local food information handy.
Bike Shops
The support from local bike shops is crucial; bike mechanics will be located throughout the ride along with yearly support from shops in the area. For more Bike Shop information check out your Training and Prep page!
Ride photos will be posted on our Bike MS Flickr page 2-3 weeks after the ride. We will share the link here when photos are ready!

Team Coordinators
As a part of the team's leadership, these Team Coordinators are a major contributor to the success of your team! Don’t do it alone! Here are just a few important coordinators to start recruiting:
- Fundraising Coordinator: Do you love the friendly challenge of fundraising?
Do you want to celebrate your team members wins and explore creative fundraising activities?
This role is meant for you! - Ride Marshal: Help keep your team safe, well-trained, and aware of all things safety on and off the road! We would like to have 1-2 ride marshals from each team at minimum. Ride Marshals will receive a Ride Marshal jersey to wear during ride weekend and special training. Contact your staff partner for more details.
- Logistics Coordinator: If organization is your niche and ensuring your team has everything you can possibly think of for a fantastic event, then sign right up!
MS Ambassadors
MS Ambassadors are volunteers that represent the National MS Society in a variety of ways and may be people living with MS, family or friends, healthcare professionals, committee members…anyone interested in joining the movement to create a world free of MS. Their primary purpose is to assist in increasing public awareness of both MS and the MS Society and to encourage others to connect and engage. An MS Ambassador can attend your team meetings in an effort to increase mission connection and encourage fundraising!

Pre-event Team Recognition
Top 10 Fundraising Line-Up Day 1
The Top 10 fundraising teams as of October 2 at 5 pm will be allowed to lead out the Bike MS riders on day 1. Top 10 teams will line up after the I Ride with MS Participants and Team America.
Team Tent Village/Overnight Celebration
Best Dressed Team
This award is given to the team who struts their stuff on the Bike MS runway and wins the applause and votes of the judges. This team looks good, whether its jerseys, shorts, socks, costumes or volunteer T-shirts. All-in-all, this team has the whole package.
Most Spirited Team
This team demonstrates excitement, dedication and fundraising during training series, at pre-events and on the weekend of the ride.
Pump It Up Award
This team has the most swag, loudest cheer support and biggest spirit at the start line AND the Comal County Fair Grounds.
Best Team Tent
The team with the best decorations and fun atmosphere at the Comal County Fairgrounds Team Tent Village Area. This year our theme is Rock ‘N Roll.
Best Jersey Promoting the Mission
This jersey makes it clear: This team is dedicated to helping individuals living with MS.
First Gear Team Award
This award will go to the team with the most first-time riders.
Returning Pack Awards
This award will go to the team with the most returning riders from the prior year Bike MS.
Safety Award (s) New
This team(s) sets the best safety example. They have at least 1 Ride Marshal per 50 riders on their team. They have safety debriefs at their training rides. They follow the rules of the road event weekend and pre-event they have the highest number of riders participating in the safety quiz.
Awards Given at Post-Event Awards Party
Rookie Team of the Year
This team gets it from day one: Fun, organized, creates awareness about MS and they are great at fundraising. They fuel the movement for a world free of MS.
Leader of the Pack Awards
This team demonstrates loyalty by participating for at least 5 years, creating awareness about Bikes MS/MS and through outstanding team fundraising.
Champion Cup
Yearly traveling trophy given to a team for its dedication to the goals of the National MS Society and its mission. This team goes above and beyond from day 1. They promote the mission of the Society, they create awareness across the cycling community and they go above and beyond to support their teammates. They are known as leaders in the MS movement to other teams at Bike MS.

Teams with Highest Fundraising Average (Above 15 riders/Under 15 riders)
Fundraising will be determined after Club 100 deadline on December 6 and is based on the teams who have the highest fundraising averages
Most Improved Fundraising Teams (Above 15 riders/Under 15 riders) (New)
Fundraising determined after Club 100 deadline on December 6 and is based on the teams who have the highest % of increase in fundraising.
Top 5 Fundraising Individuals
Fundraising is determined after Club 100 deadline on December 6.
Emerging Leader (Under age 40)
This individual is a fundraising leader who is under the age of 40 and raises the most funds for this year’s ride.
Youth Rider Award
This rider is between the ages of 12 and 17 and fundraises the most in his/her age group for Bike MS.
