We have partnered with two local training programs – CARA and Kopf Running – to offer all Finish MS runners complimentary marathon training. When opting into a training program, participants can only choose one, as we pay per program per person.
CARA (Chicago Area Runners Association):
- In-person training with multiple locations throughout Chicagoland
- 6-week pre-season training guide to prepare you for the season
- 18-week training plan (June 10 - October 13) with six options
- Run/Walk, Novice I, Novice II, Intermediate, Advanced, Advanced II
- Training guide and weekly education newsletters
- Video guided marathon strength training plan
- Group training long Runs
- (Saturday & Sunday options) led by group leaders for 7:30 to 11:30 pace/per mile run, and 12:00 to 13:00 pace/per mile run/walk.

- Coach led track workouts (Wednesdays)
- Hydration support at training runs: Water and Gatorade Endurance
- Ready to Run 20 Miler entry included (For in-person group training and virtual local options only)

Kopf Running VIRTUAL Training Program:
Interested in training but not in Chicago or don’t have time to make it to the in-person runs? The virtual program is for any charity participant looking for a “do-it-yourself” style option. Participants receive:
- Customized training program geared to safely prepare you for race day

- “Ask the Coach” email/phone support
- Runner education webinars
- Race-day course support
