Step #1: Submit application to be considered for one of our teams limited spots. Fundraising minimums are outlined below and dependent on participation type.
- $500 – Runner who secured their own spot
- $750 - Runner who secured their own spot & training
- $1,250 – Runner who secured a spot before November 10th (limited spots available)
- $1,750 – Runner who secured a spot after November 10th
Step #2: Applications will be reviewed and accepted on a rolling basis starting November 2023 through May 2024.
Step #3: If selected, you will receive an email notification from the event lead! At that time, a private registration link will be shared with you to create your personal fundraising page and confirm your spot with the team. Additional registration instructions will be outlined at that time.
Team members must raise 50% of their fundraising minimum prior to May 1st. Once they reach this milestone, they will receive our organizations official registration link for the Chicago Marathon where they will be responsible to pay the marathon entry fee - $230 for U.S. residents / $240 non-U.S. residents. The fundraising deadline for this event is October 13, 2024.
Please Note:
- If selected, there will be a $25 registration fee to hold your spot on the team. This is a tax-deductible donation to the National MS Society and will count towards your total fundraising requirement.
- Once registered and an injury occurs or a runner chooses to not participate in the Chicago Marathon as a charity runner for the National MS Society, they will still be held responsible for 75% of my required fundraising minimum by October 13, 2024.
- If a runner doesn’t reach the fundraising minimum requirement by the deadline, their credit card will automatically be charged the difference between the fundraising minimum and the amount they currently have raised.
