Our goal—a world free of MS.

Run a Myelin My Shoes (RAMMS) is a team of MS Warrior and MS Supporters. Our goal is to support each other as athletes living with Multiple Sclerosis and to motivate others with the disease to exercise to the best of their ability despite a disease that compromises mobility. We are completely aware that not everyone can run (or even wants to run!), so we have built our great team based on encouragement and kindness.

We meet once a year at a running/walking event where we spread awareness of the disease and encourage others with MS to do what they can and never give up! We also have a robust virtual team that creates their own events, whether it is running, hiking, swimming, cycling, doing yoga or whatever sport or exercise the person enjoys!

In 2018, 55 of us met at the Detroit Marathon, Half and 5K, plus another 41 were virtual teammates from all seven continents including Antarctica! Since Detroit, we have held annual events in Richmond, VA; Indianapolis, IN; Virginia Beach, VA; Baltimore, MD; Columbus, OH; and Reykjavik, Iceland. We also had one all-virtual event during the height of the pandemic. In addition, teammates have participated virtually from all over the world. We have steadily grown to over 300 members, with cumulative representation in 50 states and 32 countries.

The seventh annual team events include great options in Mesa, AZ; Helsinki, Finland; London, England; and Hartford, CT. In addition, we have our dynamic worldwide team joining us in solidarity from their home cities.
