Thank you for your interest in joining the National MS Society’s Finish MS team for the 2026 Tokyo Marathon, set to take place on March 1, 2026! We are thrilled to share that this will be our first year as an official charity partner for this prestigious race, and we’d love to have you be part of this exciting journey.

Please note that this is an application and does not guarantee entry onto the team or into the marathon.  While we wish we could accept all runners who are passionate about raising funds and awareness for our mission to cure MS, we anticipate receiving a high volume of applications and have limited invitational entries to the Tokyo Marathon.  If you are not selected for this year’s team, we hope to work with you in the future. Society staff will send additional resources of ways to get involved with the National MS Society with non-acceptance notices.  

We are looking for runners who are connected to MS or the National MS Society and are committed to raising a high level of funds and awareness for people living with MS and the Society’s mission to cure MS. The 2026 fundraising minimum is $5,000 per runner.

Tentative Timeline:

• This application will remain open until June 20, 2025.
• Applicants will be notified of their standing by June 30, 2025.

Note:

• This application is for invitational runners only. Invitational runners are runners who will be using an entry from the National MS Society’ on behalf of the Tokyo Marathon’s Official Charity Program.  

If you are a time qualified runner or have secured an entry through another source, please contact shannon.feeney@nmss.org to join our team. Qualified runners who join our charity team will receive all the same perks as our invitational runners, including complimentary training and team swag!
