I’m walking toward a world free of MS

This past year has been a tough one. My mom passed away on March 21st, while I was with her. I am honored to have walked this tough journey with her, as she has walked through tough journeys with me.  

As a mother, I can’t imagine how tough it was for her to hear “Mom, I have MS”. She never cried (in front of me), and never showed fear. She just said, “we’ve got this” and helped find the best doctors. If you have met my mom, you KNOW she dug deep and investigated it thoroughly. I think I got my “fight” from her!

When we started our Walk MS team, she was afraid it would be too much for me to balance, but she stood beside me helping in every way she could. She was incredibly proud of our team and loved helping  at the team check-in table and at our many events.

The last words she spoke on this earth were “I love you so much”. I am beyond blessed and will miss her terribly. I am also blessed with wonderful supportive people in my life who I could not have made it through this without. This is the team’s 20^th year anniversary. I know she will be looking over us and cheering us on as we do whatever we can to help find a cure for this terrible disease that causes so much heartbreak and suffering for over 1 million people.
