New in 2022: Route 'Expect a Bike' Safety Signs
On our Bike MS route this year you will see these prominent safety signs. They are there to raise driver awareness of cyclists on the road and increase the level of safety along the route. We are very happy to have these CronArtUSA’s signs for your safety this year.
More about the ‘Expect A Bike’ campaign
Expect A Bike (EAB) is a powerful bike safety campaign rooted in Ryan Cronin’s iconic artwork. For Bike MS: The Citrus Tour the signs are supported by a partnership with Area 15.
Driven by the belief that art is fundamental to the human experience and carries the power to effect positive change on a global scale, Expect-A Bike is one of CronArtUSA’s lead public art projects. The EAB lawn signs, emblazoned with Cronin’s original image, harnesses the power of art to spark dialogue between cyclists, motorists, and pedestrians. It seeks to promote safety on the roadways by integrating visual art with purposeful messaging into public spaces and daily life. It’s a true example of art in action.
Pre-Ride Bike Shop Inspections (Feb 1st to March 17th 2023)
A high-quality, SAFE, and fun cycling experience is our top priority at Bike MS. To help ensure that everyone has a great ride and arrives safely at the finish line, we work hard to create a proactive approach to safety.
To ensure you have the best experience during Bike MS, it is highly recommended that you have your bike inspected at one of our sponsoring bike shops prior to the ride. This will identify any major mechanical issues that need to be repaired and ensures your bike is in excellent riding condition so that everyone makes it safely to the finish line.
Visit one of our local bike shop partners between February 1st and March 17th for an inspection and receive a 2023 Bike MS inspection sticker.
There is no charge for the inspection if no repairs are performed. The inspection sticker guarantees free labor along the route, but cyclists should be prepared to pay for parts needed. If no inspection is completed, please be prepared to also pay for any labor needed from our bike mechanics along the route.
2023 Official Bike Shops:
Visit one of the bike shops below to receive an inspection sticker:
• Road & Trail Bicycles (Lakeland)
• Trek Spring Hill (Spring Hill)
