Accept the Challenge for a World Free of MS

3 days, 50 miles, tired feet, laughter and unforgettable memories: how far will you go to end MS?

Challenge Walk MS is an endurance walking experience that dares us to go beyond our limits for one mission – a world free of MS. Since 2001, this determined community – from volunteers to walkers – has moved us forward by raising more than $88 million to stop MS in its tracks, restore what's been lost and end MS forever.

Here are just a few of the things we achieved last year:

  • The Society committed $10.3 million in new multi-year funding to support 31 research workforce training and early career awards and committed $6.3 million in multi-year funding to support 9 new research grants.
  • Nearly 170 MS Activists attended the Public Policy Conference in Washington, D.C. These activists made their voices heard in over 210 meetings on Capitol Hill.
  • More than 1,000 people from 24 countries registered for Hispanic/Latinx MS Experience Summit, which took place on Oct. 12, 2023.

575,163 of the estimated 914,000 people with MS in the United States are connected to the National MS Society. Each step you take and dollar you raise makes a difference in the lives of those affected by MS. From volunteers who hand out ice-cold popsicles to the most inspiring Final Mile you’ll ever walk, we're all in this together to accomplish something greater than us.

Every one of us has the power to make a difference. Cross the finish line and challenge what’s possible, one step at a time.

“Why do I walk?  Because I never saw my dad walk and I want my daughter and the millions of others with MS to continue to walk.  I walk to find a cure for this disease that has impacted so many lives.”

“I began walking long distance challenge walks in 2008 and when I heard about Challenge Walk MS, I jumped at the opportunity because my husband was diagnosed in 2009. I’ve gained an MS family for support, education, and inspiration. 3 Days 50 Miles closer to a cure!”
